About Us
Stoneworks has been providing surveying services in central Scotland for over 10 years. We bring a fresh approach to the sector by combining traditional building inspection methods with the latest drone technology.
The business was established in 1990, originally offering stonemasonry conservation and restoration services. Over the next 24 years we would build an impressive reputation for quality of service working on high profile projects throughout Scotland and the wider UK. In recent years we decided to vacate the contracting sector to focus entirely on surveying.
Our mission is to provide independent advice and honest appraisals, allowing clients to make informed decisions about maintenance and repair. We are approachable and flexible and do not rush our work. Every job is allocated sufficient time to ensure that we provide a high-quality service to meet a client’s specific needs.
Our principal surveyor David Lindsay has worked in the built heritage sector for over 35 years, beginning his career as one of Scotland’s leading architectural stone carvers, then managing a traditional building restoration business, before changing career direction to train and qualify as a building surveyor. David is a registered associate member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) with the designation AssocRICS.
